Cook County Knowledge Bowl team heading to state

The Cook County High School Varsity Knowledge Bowl team narrowly edged out International Falls and Duluth Marshall to claim first place at the section meet on March 15 in Mountain Iron. The team consists of MJ Wharton, Aria Fitzgerald- Wells, Gus Hahn, Rowan Lindholm & Tristan Surbaugh, and is coached by David Liechty.

Liechty says Cook County has a storied history of successful Knowledge Bowl teams, but this is the first time they have finished first in sections in 8 years!

With the first-place finish in the section, the Cook County Knowledge Bowl team will advance to the state meet.  The state meet will be held on April 13 and 14 at Cragun’s Resort in Brainerd Lakes.
