Grand Marais Farmers Market

The Grand Marais Farmers Market is held on Thursdays from 4:30 to 6 pm at the Cook County Community Center Parking Lot. The market is operated as a partnership between the Northwoods Food Project, the Cook County Community Center, and Cook County U of MN Extension.

Finland Farmers Market

The Finland Farmers Market is held on Thursdays from 5 to 6:30 pm at the Clair Nelson Center pavilions.

Harbor History Walking Tours with the Cook County Historical Society

The Cook County Historical Society leads Harbor History Walking Tours on Fridays from 7 to 8:30 pm (weather permitting). Interested participants can meet outside the History Museum and should be able to walk approximately a mile on uneven surfaces. More information at cookcountyhistory.org.

Rooftop yoga

All-levels yoga class on the rooftop at Voyageur Brewing Company each Saturday at 9:30 AM. Registration and more information is available online.

Cook County Market

The Cook County Market is held on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm at The Hub parking lot.  The market features local arts, artists, and artisans.  More information by searching Cook County Market on Facebook.

Summer Children's Story Hour

The Muffin Man, Kevin Kager, reads his favorite picture on the beachside by Drury Lane Books on Saturdays at 11 am.

2026 Speaker Series featuring Tom Toftey: "Jots by Ade...and Tom: Footsteps along Lake Superior"

Minnesota author Tom Toftey will share insights into his latest project, building on the reflections of his father, Ade Toftey, on Saturday, July 18, from 2 to 4 pm at the Cook County History Museum. Ade was a significant figure in local history, known for his involvement with the Cook County Historical Society, his role as editor of the Cook County News Herald, and his long-standing “Remember When” column.

The event is part of the Cook County Historical Society 2026 Speaker Series.

Jo Swanson - Many Hands, One Forest: Caring for the Superior National Forest

Chik-Wauk Nature Center hosts Jo Swanson for a presentation, Many Hands, One Forest: Caring for the Superior National Forest, on Sunday, June 19, from 2 to 3 pm.  Jo is the Executive Director of the nonprofit Friends of the Superior National Forest.

Reframe Aging Monthly Roundtable

Care Partners of Cook County hosts a reframe aging monthly roundtable on the third Monday of each month from 12:15 to 1:45 pm at The Hub. A specially-selected book of the month serves as a springboard for the discussion. More information is available at carepartnersofcookcounty.org.

Nature Presentation Interactions at Chik-Wauk Museum & Nature Center

Weekly nature presentations are held on the front porch of Chik-Wauk Museum (in case of inclement weather, the presentations will be held indoors at the Nature Center) on Mondays at 1 pm. All are welcome.
