2025 Winter Plein Air Gallery Exhibit Opening Reception

Winter Plein Air opening reception will be held on Friday, February 28 from 5 to 7 pm at the Johnson Heritage Post. Winter Plein Air is an annual painting expedition to YMCA Camp Menogyn hosted by the Outdoor Painters of Minnesota. The Winter Plein Air Exhibit will run through March 23.

Films on Fridays

Films on Fridays takes place at the Cook County Community Center on select Fridays in February and March at 6 pm. Films are from the public domain, mostly black and white – noir – murder/mystery/comedy/western. All are welcome.

Dates for Films on Fridays are February 28 and March 14.

Trout Derby

The Cook County Ridge Riders host the annual Trout Derby on Saturday, March 1 on Gunflint Lake. Registration opens at 9 am and all fish must be turned in by 2 pm. More information is available on the Cook County Snowmobile Club-Ridge Riders Facebook page.

The Cook County Winter Market with local artists and artisans will be held on Saturday, March 1 from 10 am to 4 pm at The Hub.
