More Events: Visit Cook County
On Monday, May 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. the public is invited to an Grand Marais/Cook County Airport Master Plan ‘open house’ meeting at the Cook County Courthouse to learn about the proposed master plan, which will guide upgrades and changes to the airport over the coming decades.
MnDOT Aeronautics and the FAA have weighed in on the proposed Master Plan. The Airport Advisory Commission looks forward to showing the public what might be in store for the airport in upcoming decades and collecting input and feedback.
Drury Lane Books hosts Full Moon Poetry on Monday, May 12 from 6 to 8 pm. This is an open community bonfire where all are encouraged to share a favorite piece of prose or literature. Meet just behind the shop on the beach side. More information is available at drurylanebooks.com.

Cook County Pride hosts LGTBQ+ and Friends Country Western Dance Night on the second Monday of the month from 7 to 9 pm at the Cook County Community Center Log Cabin building. All are welcome. More information is available at cookcountypride.org.
Cook County Higher Education is providing a 2-day Wilderness First Aid (WFA) WMAI on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 13 & 14, from 8 am-6 pm. Wilderness Participants will learn to recognize medical emergencies, develop essential life-saving skills, and gain hands-on experience with patient assessment and basic field care for common wilderness injuries.

The Cook County Board of Commissioners meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioners Room.
