The Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery presents a solo exhibition by Logan Hudson, winner of the 2025 Grand Marais Plein Air “Best Body of Work” award, and first place in the 90-minute Birney Quick Paint. The opening reception will be held on Friday, May 22, from 5 to 7 pm. The exhibit will run through June 14.
Care Partners of Cook County is hosting a grief group on the second and fourth Mondays from 6:30 to 8 pm at the Johnson Heritage Post. Gatherings are facilitated by Care Partners staff. No pre-registration is required. More information is available at carepartnersofcookcounty.org.

The Cook County Board of Commissioners meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioners Room.

The West End Alanon family Group meets each Wednesday at 7 pm at the Lutsen Town Hall. Alanon is a group that supports friends and family members of alcoholics. The group welcomes anyone who has been affected by a friend or family member who has a problem with alcohol.
Northern Lotus Meditation takes place on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 pm, with instruction in meditation and room manners at 6:45 pm, at Two Birds Healing Arts Center in Grand Marais.
Minnesota author Michael Risku will present a comprehensive look at the commercial fishing industry that once defined North Shore communities, based on his new book, Following the Fish: A History of Commercial Fishing Along Minnesota’s North Shore, on Saturday, May 30, at 2 pm at the Cook County History Museum.
This event is part of the Cook County Historical Society 2026 Speaker Series.
