Minnesota Paid Leave for Small Business Owners Workshop

The Cook County EDA and Northland Small Business Development Center are offering a workshop covering Minnesota Paid Leave for small business owners. The event is Thursday, May 14 from 10 to 11 AM at Cook County Higher Ed. Registration and more information is available online at northlandsbdc.org.

The memorial service for Barbara Erickson will be held on Saturday, May 16 at 11 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. A light lunch will follow the service.

Reframe Aging Monthly Roundtable

Care Partners of Cook County hosts a reframe aging monthly roundtable on the third Monday of each month from 12:15 to 1:45 pm at The Hub. A specially-selected book of the month serves as a springboard for the discussion. More information is available at carepartnersofcookcounty.org.

Monday Night Al-Anon will meet Mondays, at 7 pm at the First Congregational Church in Grand Marais.

Lutsen Township meeting

The Lutsen Township board meets on the third Tuesday of each month at the Lutsen Town Hall at 7 pm. More information at lutsentownship.com.

Cook County West End Alanon

The West End Alanon family Group meets each Wednesday at 7 pm at the Lutsen Town Hall.  Alanon is a group that supports friends and family members of alcoholics.  The group welcomes anyone who has been affected by a friend or family member who has a problem with alcohol.

Northern Lotus Meditation

Northern Lotus Meditation takes place on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 pm, with instruction in meditation and room manners at 6:45 pm, at Two Birds Healing Arts Center in Grand Marais.

Memory Café

Care Partners of Cook County’s Memory Café meets on the third Thursday of each month, from 1-2:30 pm at The Hub. A Memory Café is a casual gathering where people with memory loss and the family or friends who care for them can come together in a safe, supportive, relaxed environment.

Opening Reception - A Solo Exhibition by Logan Hudson: 2025 Plein Air Grand Marais Winner

The Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery presents a solo exhibition by Logan Hudson, winner of the 2025 Grand Marais Plein Air “Best Body of Work” award, and first place in the 90-minute Birney Quick Paint. The opening reception will be held on Friday, May 22, from 5 to 7 pm. The exhibit will run through June 14.
