2025 Joan Drury Award
The Violence Prevention Center is accepting new nominations for the 2025 Joan Drury Award. The award is names after late community member Joan Drury, who was a lifelong feminist and an accomplished advocate for women and LGBTQ+ people. After Joan’s passing in 2020, the VPC created the Joan Drury Award to honor Joan’s legacy. Each year the Joan Drury Award recognized one Cook County community member who is committed to feminism and gender equity through volunteerism, community commitment, personal awareness, promotion of education, awareness, and outreach, and philanthropy.
Nominations can be through the VPC’s website – violencepreventioncenter.org/community. All nominations must be submitted by January 3. The award will presented on February 1 at the VPC’s annual fundraiser and film event, Beyond the Reel, at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts.
