The Cook County Historical Society is pleased to once again present STORIES THAT MATTER: Women of Cook County on Thursday, August 1 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at the Johnson Heritage Post.
The event will share the stories of three Cook County County women, Darragh Aldrich (writer, author, and radio commentator) who was the first woman columnist in Minneapolis and used her husband’s middle name to write books; Andrea Peterson (teacher, mayor author) award-winning teacher, and Grand Marais’ first woman mayor, and Betsy Bowen (artist, co-op founder, gallery owner), whose art is recognized as a staple along the North Shore.
