Storytelling from the back roads will be held on Saturday, October 5 from 2 to 4 pm at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts. The event is the collaborative work of the Historical Alliance of Cook County, which includes;

• The Gunflint Trail Historical Society – has invited Joyce Leddy to talk about her family, The Soderbergs.
• Schroeder Area Historical Society – will have Tom Niemi. He will talk about working at Taconite Harbor.
• Tofte Historical Society – will focus on the contribution of women in the history of Cook County, specifically Jean Raiken who built and ran Sawbill Lodge.
