Local firefighters experience live fire in training

A mobile burn simulation trailer came to the Grand Marais Fire Department fire hall on Sunday, June 13, to give local firefighters the opportunity to complete and update their training. Firefighters from Lutsen, Tofte, Hovland, Colvill, and Grand Marais donned their fire turnout gear and entered a fire- and smoke-filled trailer.

Jeff Mayer and John Olson of Hibbing Community College were the instructors as local volunteers completed their Firefighter I and Firefighter II courses.
