Radio on a Stick: WTIP live from the Minnesota State Fair!

The drive to the Minnesota State Fair might be a long one for North Shore residents, but on Tuesday, Aug. 26, WTIP headed to Falcon Heights, MN to bring voices of the fair to our listeners!

WTIP’s Matthew Brown broadcasted live from the AMPERS booth in the fair’s Education Building throughout the day, and had the chance to learn about butter sculpture, crop art, the job of Princess Kay of the Milky Way, and a lot more about the Fair!

Below are interviews with:

  • Abby Cline, talking about stunt dogs at the fair
  • Tyler Nash and Sydney Ogren, 4H Club State Ambassadors
  • Malorie Thorson, the 72nd Princess Kay of the Milky Way
  • Keri Huber, the State Fair archivist
  • Jamie Jensen, Fair Superintendent of Bees and Honey
  • Gerry Kulzer, the official butter sculptor for the State Fair
  • Julie Blaha, the Minnesota State Auditor, who spoke with WTIP about crop art and competitive butter sculpting
