School District 166 COVID-19 positive cases remain low
As COVID-19 pandemic numbers continue to climb and data makes its way to the Minnesota Department of Health website, there is often a lag. That appears to be the case when an MDH report came out on December 10 listing School District 166 as one of 67 Northland schools with an outbreak. WTIP reached out to ISD 166 Superintendent Chris Lindholm to learn more.
Lindholm told WTIP that as of December 10, there were actually only two students who had tested positive for COVID-19. Those cases were in Sawtooth Mountain Elementary. Because of the exposure, Lindholm said 14 other students were in quarantine.
Lindholm said the data likely came from mid-November when there were numerous positive cases and both students and teachers quarantining at Cook County High School. He said after Thanksgiving the school had a “relatively quiet couple of weeks.”
WTIP checked in with Lindholm again today, Dec. 13 and he said no additional cases have been reported.
Rhonda Silence spoke with Superintendent Lindholm about the situation at the school. Here’s their conversation.
