Structure fire reported on County Road 14 in Cook County

Cook County authorities were called to a house fire about 10 miles east of Grand Marais Tuesday night.

The fire was reported at 184 County Road 14. The property is a private residence, though it was often referred to as the ‘Jagerhaus German Bed & Breakfast’ throughout Cook County.

A massive smoke plume was visible from the Lutsen area Tuesday night as the fire burned on the hillside above Lake Superior, about one mile up County Road 14 from the Big Lake.

Local fire officials confirmed with WTIP Tuesday night that authorities were paged just after 8 p.m. to a report of a house “fully engulfed” in flames. No injuries were immediately reported.
