Tofte treasurer hoping someone comes forward to serve
All three West End townships are preparing for their annual elections and town meetings on Tuesday, March 9. There is still a vacancy on the ballot for the township of Tofte.
Current Treasurer Dan Shirley, who has been elected to the seat twice as a write-in, is hoping someone from Tofte will come forward to fill this important town board seat.
Shirley is busy enough without the role of Tofte treasurer. He also serves on the School District 166 school board where he is chair. He and his wife, Clare Shirley are owners of the Sawbill Canoe Outfitters.
Shirley said he would be happy to assist anyone who comes forward to take on the treasurer job. Anyone with questions about what the township treasurer role entails may call Dan at the outfitters at 663-7150.
WTIP’s Rhonda Silence talked to Dan Shirley to learn more about the Tofte treasurer position.
