Video: Senator Hauschild hosts March 21 Grand Marais community town hall

On Friday, March 21, Senator Grant Hauschild visited Grand Marais to host a community town hall at the Cook County YMCA.

Approximately 170 to 200 members of the public attended the event.

During the town hall, Senator Hauschild responded to questions and comments from the public concerning mining, protections for the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, federal funding disruptions, childcare, and the ongoing Minnesota legislative session.

A video of the March 21 town hall is below.

WTIP spoke with Minnesota House Representative District 3A Roger Skraba on Friday, March 21. Skraba said in April, he will also host community town halls throughout his district, including Grand Marais.

“Just so people can just come chat, come talk,” Skraba said. “Get a feel for me and for understanding what’s going on.”

Skraba, Hauschild, and Minnesota State Representative District 03B Natalie Zeleznikar will host a town hall in Two Harbors on Saturday, April 5 at 1 p.m. The town hall will be at the Two Harbors High School.

According to the Lake County Press newspaper, the town hall will be streamed in collaborating with KTWH radio and Two Harbors Media owner Jose Leon.
