Minnesota Teens Enjoy the Good Life in the BWCA

Julia Ruelle (pictured at the very right), and three of her friends recently completed a trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Ruelle was the winner of the first-ever essay contest sponsored by the founder of Ely Outfitting Co. Highlighting the accomplishment is the fact Ruelle recently battled a rare form of brain cancer.

Ruelle, a 16-year-old who just completed her sophomore year at Minnetonka High School, beat out about 70 other Minnesota high schoolers for the five-day, fully outfitted canoe and camping adventure offered as a prize to the winner of the essay contest.

Ruelle will be featured in the July episode of the WTIP Boundary Waters Podcast. She produced this video following her trip to the BWCA.
