West end power outage continues as crews work to restore power

An isolated power outage that began at approximately 10 a.m. on Tuesday near Tofte continues into the evening.

Earlier this morning, law enforcement and Arrowhead Electric were notified of a vehicle crashing into and damaging a power pole in front of the Tofte Holiday Station along Hwy 61.

Arrowhead Electric crews were immediately dispatched to the scene to restore power while law enforcement directed traffic. The power outage is impacting approximately 400 properties near Tofte and Schroeder.

As of 4 p.m., Arrowhead Electric crews are still working to restore power, officials with Arrowhead Electric told WTIP.

If you are traveling along Hwy 61 in the Tofte and Schroeder area, be advised there may be delays. Temperatures are expected to hover in the high 20s and low 30s overnight with a 50 percent change of snow flurries accumulating to 2 inches overnight, according to the National Weather Service.
