White, Kelm advance from Cook County District 1 primary

The unofficial results of the 2026 Cook County primary election are now in for District 1.  Advancing to the general election in November are candidates Incumbent Deb White and Matt Kelm.

Candidate Deb White ended the night with the most votes with 132 (53.44%), followed by Matt Kelm with 63 votes (25.51%).

Christine Childs followed with 52 votes (21.05%).

Cook County Auditor Braidy Powers told WTIP that overall turnout for Cook County voters during the Aug. 11 primary was about 42% of registered voters.
