World Press Institute brings global journalists to Cook County

Pauliina Grym is a Finnish journalist, podcaster and radio host.

She is also among those chosen for the 2022 World Press Institute International Fellowship program.

Grym will be in Cook County March 27 to April 1 with seven other journalists from around the world as part of the fellowship tour of the United States.

The fellowship this year features journalists from Argentina, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Hong Kong, Germany, India, Iran and Nigeria.

Participants are stopping here during their three week Minnesota tour before heading out on an expanded tour of the United States.

Included in their Cook County visit is a public forum where community members can speak with the journalists. The event is Tuesday, March 29 at 7 p.m. at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts in Grand Marais. The public roundtable discussion will feature a question-and-answer session with the eight visiting journalists.

WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs spoke with Grym about the World Press Institute fellowship, her experiences in Minnesota and how journalism connects her to communities like Grand Marais. Listen to the full interview in the audio shared below.
