JSK Contracting to start spray foam insulation in June
Retirement is often a time of transition for many individuals. Generally, it is a time to find or develop new hobbies, relax, or travel. However, for Eric Koch, retirement was a time to start a small business.
“I lasted about two weeks and decided that retirement wasn’t going to work,” Eric Koch said.
Eric Koch and his son Ryan Koch then decided to start a small business: JSK Contracting.
JSK Contracting will provide quality spray foam insulation for residential and commercial buildings in Cook County and along the North Shore. They will use the latest Graco Inc., a Minneapolis-based company, for their spray foam equipment.
Eric Koch said the equipment is expected to arrive in the coming weeks. “We’ve got a number of projects lined up,” Eric Koch said.
In addition, to spray foam insulation, they will provide:
- Flash and batt installation.
- Fiberglass/mineral wool batt installation.
- Blown-in insulation.
- Air sealing.
They also intend to add AeroBarrier sealing within the next twelve months.
“It seemed like there was a need for at least another spray foam company in this area,” Eric Koch said. “So we’ve been working on it since last July.”
As the business grows and Eric and Ryan get their footing in Cook County, they intend to expand the business to offer remodeling and construction services.
“We are going to expand the business into some other areas of energy efficiency over the next year,” Eric Koch said. “But for now, we want to stick with just spray foam.”
Eric Koch said he and his son have extensive spray foam and remodeling experience. Ryan Koch has two years of experience as a spray foam technician and eight years of remodeling experience. Eric Koch has owned and operated a remodeling business for twenty years.
Eric and Ryan look forward to working together and meeting new people in the county. To contact or learn more about JSK Contracting, call Eric Koch at 218-264-9629.
