Cook County begins distributing KN95 masks to community members
After a dramatic uptick in the COVID-19 case count during the first month of the year on the local level, Cook County Public Health officials are distributing free, higher-quality masks to community members.
The masks are available as of this morning (Feb. 7) and can be picked up at Sawtooth Mountain Clinic, according to Cook County Public Health Supervisor Grace Grinager.
The local distribution of both KN95 and N95 masks are part of a plan from Minnesota’s governor to distribute more than 2 million masks to the public.
WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs spoke with Grinager about this and other pandemic related news and information during a live interview on the Daybreak program Monday. Other topics discussed include the fact COVID burnout seems to be at an all-time high in Cook County and the notion that people are going to essentially need to adapt to having COVID a public health situation moving forward.
