Cook County residents 16 and older can be vaccinated for COVID-19 this week
Following the recent expanded eligibility criteria announced by Gov. Tim Walz, officials from the Cook County Public Health Department announced on WTIP this morning that this week’s vaccination events will be open for anyone age 16 years or older.
There will be two vaccination events in Cook County Thursday, April 1, that will include a total of 400 first doses and 100 second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
One event will be located at North Shore Health, the local hospital in Grand Marais, where the Pifizer vaccine will be offered to anyone ages 16 years or older. Anyone under the age of 18 will need parental consent for vaccination and should have a parent or guardian present with them during the vaccination appointment.
The second event will be located at the Cook County Community Center, where the Moderna vaccine will be offered to anyone 18 years or older.
Registration is required for both of this week’s events as well as all future vaccine events.
