Streamline Plumbing and Heating launches in Grand Marais

North Shore Plumbing and Heating is now doing business as Streamline Plumbing and Heating after former owner Justin Greeley sold the company to Bjorn Stone and Wade McDaniels, who rebranded the business under a new name.

Stone and McDaniels, brothers-in-law who live in Duluth, operate the business out of Grand Marais. Stone told WTIP he remains in contact with Greeley as Streamline ramps up operations along the North Shore.

“I’m still in contact with Justin now,” Stone said. “He’s more than happy to answer my call and let me know any information I need.”

North Shore Plumbing attempted to merge with County Plumbing and Heating in July 2024, but the companies announced in March 2025 that they would separate, saying in a joint statement that “the parties were unable to successfully complete the merge.”

According to the website for another business Greeley owns, he moved to the Owatonna area to be closer to family.

Plumbing and heating services are essential year-round, but demand is especially high during the North Shore’s cold winters.

“It’s actually pretty easy to keep staying motivated,” Stone told WTIP. “No matter if it’s an emergency job or a preventative maintenance job, if you can provide a great service at a reasonable price, and most importantly, answer the phone. We do answer the phone right away. The feeling you get from leaving that job, knowing that you were able to serve that customer the best you could possibly do. That’s what motivates me from day to day.”

The owners commute from Duluth for service calls, though Stone said he enjoys the drive despite challenges posed by road conditions.

“I would say the biggest challenge is probably the roads,” Stone said. “But other than that, the North Shore has been great to me, and it’s been great to my family.”

Because the business is based in Grand Marais, Streamline Plumbing and Heating does not charge customers for drive time from Duluth.

Streamline Plumbing and Heating is the first business Stone has owned, though he said he and McDaniels consulted with other business owners while considering the purchase.

“We talked to some other, older folks that have done this in the past. They kind of gave us their advice and insight on how it went for them,” Stone said. “It’s been great so far.
