Severe weather impacts BWCA and North Shore on Memorial Day

Severe weather is being reported throughout the WTIP listening area to start Memorial Day Monday.

There is the possibility of severe weather throughout the day from the North Shore of Lake Superior to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Heavy rain, hail, strong wind, dense fog and lightning are all possible. Following a round of thunderstorms this morning, another round of severe thunderstorms is expected Monday night for the WTIP listening area.

WTIP’s Mark Abrahamson spoke Monday morning with Meteorologist Karen Eagle from the National Weather Service in Duluth about the severe weather expected for Memorial Day. Audio below.
