New business Full Sun Services offers trail maintenance and tree removal along the North Shore

The past couple of years of the pandemic have allowed individuals to find new passions, transition into different careers, and, for some, start a new business. 

Alex Truax, the owner of Full Sun Services, did just that. 

Truax said his inspiration to start Full Sun Services stemmed from being laid off from his job during the early stages of the pandemic. With more free time on his hands, he began helping friends and family with landscaping and tree care projects. 

Truax said, “One thing led to another, and we had people asking for help, and that took off from there. Adding clients and services along the way.”

Full Sun Services offers trail maintenance, home landscaping, and tree removal services along the North Shore. 

Not long after starting Full Sun Services, Truax secured trail maintenance projects on the Superior Hiking Trail. “We do all of the maintenance on the Superior Hiking Trail from Duluth to Canada,” Truax said. 

He added, “If you’re out in the woods, and you see somebody working on a boardwalk, and if they have a yellow shirt on, it’s Full Sun Services, that’s one of our crew.”

In addition to repairing and replacing boardwalks along the Superior Hiking Trail, Full Sun Services works with residential, commercial, and state agencies to tackle landscaping or tree removal projects. 

Full Sun Services is based out of Silver Bay, Minn, and offer services along the entire North Shore.
