Cook County HRA seeks information on local housing rehab and repair needs
The Cook County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) is issuing a survey for all residents and property owners in the county to assess existing housing rehabilitation and repair needs. The objective of the survey is to gather information regarding the most prevalent types of repairs and updates that could be addressed in our current housing stock, and whether those repairs and updates warrant the creation of an HRA rehab loan program.
The survey can be found online by clicking here.
Additionally, the HRA is hosting a Housing Summit on September 8 from 6-8 p.m. in the commissioners’ room at the Cook County Courthouse.
The summit will include presentations from Jason Hale, the HRA Executive Director, a local builder, and a regional developer. During a July 26 interview on WTIP, Hale said the presenters will share information on and discuss the recent comprehensive housing needs analysis, the state of the housing market, and building and developing in Cook County. The objective of the summit is to inform residents about the challenges of the existing housing market and to solicit feedback from the community regarding the HRA’s housing priorities, Hale said.
Other topics discussed during the WTIP interview include the 2023 levy for the HRA and information from the recent meeting of the Cook County Vacation Rental Committee. Listen to the full interview in the audio below.
