North Star Bike Race – St. Paul to Grand Portage and back!

WTIP’s Mark Abrahamson talks with Duluth resident Leah Gruhn about the North Star Bicycle Race that starts in downtown St. Paul on Wednesday, September 13. It follows the US Bicycle Route 41 from St. Paul to Grand Portage where riders turn around and race back to St. Paul – 649 miles.

The fastest riders complete the race in under 48 hours.

Leah was the fastest woman to complete the race the two previous times she did it, and is the current record holder for women.

Leah hopes to be passing through Grand Marais around 8 or 9 am on Thursday on her way to Grand Portage, and will be coming back through, headed south, that afternoon.
