Care Partners of Cook County’s Memory Café meets on the third Thursday of each month, from 1-2:30 pm at The Hub. A Memory Café is a casual gathering where people with memory loss and the family or friends who care for them can come together in a safe, supportive, relaxed environment.

The Grand Marais Farmers Market is held on Thursdays from 4:30 to 6 pm at the Cook County Community Center Parking Lot. The market is operated as a partnership between the Northwoods Food Project, the Cook County Community Center, and Cook County U of MN Extension.
The Finland Farmers Market is held on Thursdays from 5 to 6:30 pm at the Clair Nelson Center pavilions.
The Northwoods Food Project and Cook County UMN Extension are hosting a homestead gardens tour on Friday, August 21 from 1 to 4 pm. The tour will visit two gardens near Colvill, east of Grand Marais.

Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery hosts the Big Dumb Drawing Workshop, hosted by local artist Marcia Roepke, on Friday, August 21, from 2 to 3:30 pm. The session is part of JHP’s main gallery exhibition, “Painting Pictures with Words, Telling Stories with Paint,” which features work from Roepke and runs through September 13.

The Cook County Historical Society leads Harbor History Walking Tours on Fridays from 7 to 8:30 pm (weather permitting). Interested participants can meet outside the History Museum and should be able to walk approximately a mile on uneven surfaces. More information at cookcountyhistory.org.
