Reframe Aging Monthly Roundtable

Care Partners of Cook County hosts a reframe aging monthly roundtable on the third Monday of each month from 12:15 to 1:45 pm at The Hub. A specially-selected book of the month serves as a springboard for the discussion. More information is available at carepartnersofcookcounty.org.

Nature Presentation Interactions at Chik-Wauk Museum & Nature Center

Weekly nature presentations are held on the front porch of Chik-Wauk Museum (in case of inclement weather, the presentations will be held indoors at the Nature Center) on Mondays at 1 pm. All are welcome.

Grief Group

Care Partners of Cook County is hosting a grief group on the 3rd Monday of each month at the Care Partners office from 5 to 6:30 pm. Care Partners Executive Director Julie Wilson will facilitate the gatherings.  No registration is required.  More information at carepartnersofcookcounty.org.

Grand Marais Al-Anon Meetings

Monday Night Al-Anon will meet Mondays, at 7 pm at the First Congregational Church in Grand Marais.

Happy Hikers

The Happy Hikers organize a weekly hike on Tuesdays at 9 am.  The August 18 hike will be Caribou Falls (SHT from Sugarloaf Road). The group will meet at the Gitchi-Gami Bike State Trail Parking Lot on Highway 61 and Ski Hill Road to carpool, or meet at the trailhead. More information is available on the Happy Hikers – Cook Co. Chik-Wauk Weekly Guided History Tour - Every Tuesday until August 18

Chik-Wauk intern Lily Burrows takes visitors on a guided tour through the history of Chik-Wauk Lodge on Tuesdays from 1 to 2 pm.  More information at gunflinthistory.org.

Savor the Summer - Food Preservation Workshops

The Northwoods Food Project is organizing the Savor the Summer series: food preservation workshops with the Food Equipment Library.  All workshops will take place at the Cook County Community Center from 6-8 pm.

First Congregational Church Presents: The Jumpin' Jehosafats

First Congregational Church Presents: The Jumpin' Jehosafats

The First Congregational United Church is hosting a concert featuring The Jumpin’ Jehosafats – playing a variety of traditional jazz standards and Gospel. The concert is set for Wednesday, August 19 at 5 PM at the First Congregational Church. Donations benefit the Food Shelf.

Cook County West End Alanon

The West End Alanon family Group meets each Wednesday at 7 pm at the Lutsen Town Hall.  Alanon is a group that supports friends and family members of alcoholics.  The group welcomes anyone who has been affected by a friend or family member who has a problem with alcohol.
