Heart of Hospitality award winners reflect on working in service
At the 2024 Fall Gala the Cook County Chamber of Commerce and Visit Cook County presented a series of awards, including the Heart of Hospitality. That award is given to someone in each of the four regions in the county. This year it was presented to the following people:
- Grand Marais Area Tourism – Daryl Bathke, Jerry Kohl (tie)
- Gunflint Trail Association – Stacey Palmer
- Lutsen – Tofte – Schroeder Tourism Association – Dakota Marshall
- Grand Portage – Jessica Smith
Several winners spoke with WTIP about their time working in hospitality, their draw to service jobs, and what the award means to them.
