Ice Storm Robotics competes at the DECC

The COVID-19 pandemic put a damper on many school activities for the past two years, including the robotics program. However, School District 166 was able to form a small team this year. A group of five students built a robot and traveled to the Duluth Entertainment Center on March 2-5 for the FIRST Robot competition.

Team members are Toby, Hailey, Jeffrey, Aidan, Aurora. Robotics advisors are ISD166 Maintenance Director Tom Nelson and IT Director Kevin Anderson.

WTIP’s Rhonda Silence spoke with one of the participants about robotics and the Duluth event.
