More COVID-19 cases in Cook County, two local residents hospitalized

On the day Minnesota set a daily record for new cases in a single day, Cook County public health officials announced four new COVID-19 cases Thursday, including a woman in her 80s, a woman in her 40s, a man in his 40s and a local girl under the age of 10.

This brings the total case count for Cook County to 22 since the beginning of the pandemic.

At least 11 of these cases are considered active at this time.

Additionally, this week public health officials announced that Cook County received notice of its first two hospitalized cases.

Minnesota set a new daily high for new cases reported in a single day with nearly 2,900 new cases statewide today.

Going forward, newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Cook County will be reported on Mondays and Thursdays on the Cook County COVID-19 hub site.

The Minnesota Department of Health updates its county case count on a daily basis.
