North Shore Health Local Artist Exhibition

The creative work of Arrowhead-area artists has returned to the walls of North Shore Health. After taking a break during the COVID-pandemic, North Shore Health has restarted their local artists’ exhibit program.

“We are thrilled to restart our art program now that the community can once again gather in public places,” said Kimber Wraalstad, CEO of North Shore Health.

WTIP spoke with Todd Ford, the Public Information Officer at North Shore Health, and featured photographer Thomas Spence at the exhibition opening event on Dec. 14. Ford helped restart the local artist exhibition program at the hospital and speaks to the benefits of North Shore art on the hospital walls for patients and visitors. Tofte-based photographer Thomas Spence talks about how his work has gravitated from Lake Superior scenes to northern lights and forest wildlife, such as Canada Lynx and moose.

The current exhibition features the work of local artists working in various media including Kris Keiper, Terry Lewis, Jason Yuhas, Annette Cozzi, Todd Ford, Ladona Tornabene, and Thomas Spence.

North Shore Health encourages local artists to submit their work for inclusion in the next exhibit in public locations of the hospital from January 1, 2024 – April 30, 2024.
