Tofte community garden nears completion

The first community garden on the west end of Cook County is nearing completion in front of Birch Grove Community School in Tofte.

Twenty raised concrete beds have been built and filled with composted soil and will be available to residents in early 2024 for a $20 maintenance fee. Liz Wagner, a retired resident of Tofte, helped launch the project and spoke with WTIP about her hopes for the new garden. Video and audio below.
