Winter Camping in the Boundary Waters

In early January 2018, Cook County residents Matthew Baxley and Joe Friedrichs ventured up the Gunflint Trail for a winter camping trip in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. The journey took them to Winchell Lake, which involves numerous portages regardless of where a traveler stars their trip.
