WTIP talks with Gaylene Spolarich, candidate for Minnesota’s 8th Congressional District
2020 is a busy election year across the country, in Minnesota and right here in Cook County.
Among the elections WTIP will be following closely is Minnesota’s 8th Congressional District for the U.S. House of Representatives, a seat currently held by Rep. Pete Stauber.
The 27,000-square-mile district starts just north of the Twin Cities and expands north and east to the Ontario border, including all of Cook County and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
In this interview, WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs speaks with Gaylene Spolarich, one of the candidates running for office on the DFL ticket for this seat in the U.S. House.
Spolarich, an Indigenous woman from Aitkin County, joins Quinn Nystrom, of Baxter, and Soren Sorenson, of Bemidji, in seeking to be on the Democratic ticket in the race.
