Grand Marais Al-Anon Meetings

Monday Night Al-Anon will meet Mondays, at 7 pm at the First Congregational Church in Grand Marais.

Schroeder Township meeting

The regular Schroeder Township Board of Supervisors meeting is held on the second Tuesday of the month at the Schroeder Town Hall at 7 pm.  More information at schroedertownship.com.

Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners

The Cook County Board of Commissioners meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioners Room.

Cook County West End Alanon

The West End Alanon family Group meets each Wednesday at 7 pm at the Lutsen Town Hall.  Alanon is a group that supports friends and family members of alcoholics.  The group welcomes anyone who has been affected by a friend or family member who has a problem with alcohol.

Northern Lotus Meditation

Northern Lotus Meditation takes place on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 pm, with instruction in meditation and room manners at 6:45 pm, at Two Birds Healing Arts Center in Grand Marais.

Storytime at the Grand Marais Library

Storytime at the Grand Marais Public Library takes place on select Thursdays throughout the fall at 10:30 AM. The program is specifically geared toward preschool-aged children.

Memory Café

Care Partners of Cook County’s Memory Café meets on the third Thursday of each month, from 1-2:30 pm at The Hub. A Memory Café is a casual gathering where people with memory loss and the family or friends who care for them can come together in a safe, supportive, relaxed environment.

Superior Dark Sky Experience

Superior Dark Sky, in conjunction with the Silver Bay Library, Tettegouche State Park, and the Black Beach, will host the annual Superior Dark Sky Experience from October 15 through October 17.  The event is open to all with a variety of Dark Sky activities and presentations over three days. Events include Star Gazing and Night Photography, Dark Skies and Light Pollution Awareness, Sidewalk Astronomy, Creatures of the Night, Saw-whet Owl Banding, and Sam Zimmerman Native American Author and Artist Presentation.

Grand Marais Farmers Market

The Grand Marais Farmers Market is held on Thursdays from 4:30 to 6 pm at the Cook County Community Center Parking Lot. The market is operated as a partnership between the Northwoods Food Project, the Cook County Community Center, and Cook County U of MN Extension.

Drop In Modern Dance Classes

Drop-in Modern Dance Classes take place on Thursdays from 6 to 7:30 pm at the Colvill Town Hall, with a rotating cast of teachers: Steph Vos, Rachel Clark, Margaret Johnson, and Lenna Stever-Sobanja. No dance experience needed.
