Drop In Modern Dance Classes

Drop-in Modern Dance Classes take place on Thursdays from 6 to 7:30 pm at the Colvill Town Hall, with a rotating cast of teachers: Steph Vos, Rachel Clark, Margaret Johnson, and Lenna Stever-Sobanja. No dance experience needed.

Community Mindfulness Night

Community Mindfulness Nights are held on the last Monday of every month from 6 to 7:30 pm at Two Bird Healing Arts Center. October 26 will feature Community Acupuncture with Charles Bishop.

Full Moon Poetry

Drury Lane Books hosts a Full Moon Poetry event from 6 to 8 pm. This is an open community bonfire where all are encouraged to share a favorite piece of prose or literature. Meet just behind the shop on the beach side. More information is available at drurylanebooks.com.

The Cook County Board of Commissioners meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioners Room.

Cook County Historical Society Annual Meeting with Guest Speaker Keith Morris

The Cook County Historical Society Annual Meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 27 from 5:30 to 7 pm at the Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery. Keynote speaker Keith Morris will talk about his new book, “Growing Up on the Gunflint Trail”.  More information at cookcountyhistory.org.

Mobile Food Pantry Program

Second Harvest Northland’s Mobile Food Pantry Program will be in Cook County on the fourth Wednesday of each month, at the Grand Portage Community Center from 11:30 am to noon and at the Cook County Community Center from 1:30 to 2 pm.

Cook County West End Alanon

The West End Alanon family Group meets each Wednesday at 7 pm at the Lutsen Town Hall.  Alanon is a group that supports friends and family members of alcoholics.  The group welcomes anyone who has been affected by a friend or family member who has a problem with alcohol.

Northern Lotus Meditation

Northern Lotus Meditation takes place on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 pm, with instruction in meditation and room manners at 6:45 pm, at Two Birds Healing Arts Center in Grand Marais.

Storytime at the Grand Marais Library

Storytime at the Grand Marais Public Library takes place on select Thursdays throughout the fall at 10:30 AM. The program is specifically geared toward preschool-aged children.
