Summer Theater Festival

As part of the Summer Theater Festival, the Grand Marais Playhouse presents The Spitfire Grill by James Valcq and Fred Alley, in repertory (alternating performances) with The Foolish Fishgirls and the Pearl by Barbara Pease Weber.

This week, performances of The Spitfire Grill are on Thursday and Saturday at 7 pm.  Performances of The Foolish Fishgirls and the Pearl are on Friday at 7 pm and Sunday at 2 pm.

Moss Lake Trail & South Lake Trail Project

Friends of the Superior National Forest is seeking volunteers to help with trail clearing and fixing eroded areas on the Moss Lake Trail and South Lake Trail on July 19-21. This project requires volunteers to be able to hike about 4 miles over rough terrain over the course of the day. Work will go from 8:30 am to no later than 4 pm each day. Tia Parks - Invasive Terrestrial Plants on the Gunflint Trail: Identification, Management, and Planting Responsibly

Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Centers hosts Tia Parks for a presentation on Invasive Terrestrial Plants on the Gunflint Trail: Identification, Management, and Planting Responsibly on Sunday, July 20 from 2 to 3 pm. Tia is the Cook County Agricultural Inspector and the coordinator for the Cook County Invasives Team. More information is available at gunflinthistory.org.

Summer food program

Cook County Schools hosts a summer food program from June 9 to August 15. The program provides meals for all children 18 and younger. No registration or income requirements necessary.

Meals are Monday to Friday, breakfast from 8:30 to 9:15 am, and lunch from 11:15 am to noon. Meals must be eaten in the cafeteria.

Bone Builders

Bone Builders is a group exercise weight training program that was created for adults who are interested in preventing and reducing osteoporosis. Bone Builders meets at the Lutsen Town Hall on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 to 11 am.
