Care Partners of Cook County organizes “Connecting Caregivers” on the first Wednesday of each month at 1 pm at the Cook County Community Center. Led by Care Partners volunteer Kay Costello and Care Coordinator Barb Bernady Rose.

The Grand Marais City Council meets on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 6:30 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall. More information at ci.grand-marais.mn.us.
The West End Alanon family Group meets each Wednesday at 7 pm at the Lutsen Town Hall. Alanon is a group that supports friends and family members of alcoholics. The group welcomes anyone who has been affected by a friend or family member who has a problem with alcohol.
Northern Lotus Meditation takes place on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 pm, with instruction in meditation and room manners at 6:45 pm, at Two Birds Healing Arts Center in Grand Marais.
The Grand Marais Farmers Market is held on Thursdays from 4:30 to 6 pm at the Cook County Community Center Parking Lot. The market is operated as a partnership between the Northwoods Food Project, the Cook County Community Center, and Cook County U of MN Extension.
The Finland Farmers Market is held on Thursdays from 5 to 6:30 pm at the Clair Nelson Center pavilions.
Local artist Marcia Roepke will lead The Art of Noticing Writers Workshop on Friday, September 4, from 2 to 3:30 pm at the Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery. Marcia will talk about how she writes Trail Time, her award-winning program on WTIP. This session is part of JHP’s main gallery exhibition, “Painting Pictures with Words, Telling Stories with Paint,” which features work from Roepke and runs through September 13th.
