Reframe Aging Monthly Roundtable

Care Partners of Cook County hosts a reframe aging monthly roundtable on the third Monday of each month from 12:15 to 1:45 pm at The Hub. A specially-selected book of the month serves as a springboard for the discussion. More information is available at carepartnersofcookcounty.org.

Poultry for Beginners

Cook County Extension is hosting Poultry for Beginners on Monday, April 20, from 6 to 7:30 pm at the Cook County Community Center. Monday Night Al-Anon will meet Mondays, at 7 pm at the First Congregational Church in Grand Marais.

Climate Change in Cook County: Community listening Session

The Northland Climate Resilience Collaborative is hosting a listening session on Tuesday, April 21, at Studio 21. Participants will share stories and reflections on how climate change is impacting their land and community.

Cook County Schools Information Night

Cook County Schools will host an information night on Tuesday, April 21, from 5 to 6:30 pm.

Kindergarten and 6th-grade families will start in the ACA before breaking off to specific groups to learn about the unique learning opportunities at Sawtooth Mountain Elementary and Cook County Middle School.

PreK families can come tour the rooms with their children and meet the teachers. A brief parent meeting will be held at 5:20 while kids play in the rooms.

WISE Evening Gathering: appetizers and thrift stores

WISE (Women’s Initiative for Service and Education) is hosting an evening gathering at Up Yonder on Tuesday, April 21, from 5:30 to 7 pm.  After a social hour, there will be an opportunity to learn about the workings of Oddz’n Endz and the First & Second Thrift Store, which together have donated nearly two million dollars to local nonprofits. There will also be a short fashion show of clothing from First & Second.

Lutsen Township meeting

Lunch & Learn - Mining Memory Lane: Exploring Your Stories

Care Partners and Cook County Higher Education present Lunch & Learn “Mining Memory Lane: Exploring Your Stories” on Wednesday, April 22, from noon to 1 pm at CCHE or Zoom. Writer and storyteller Rose Arrowsmith will use prompts, guided visualization, and paired sharing techniques to help tap into and start crafting memories.

We Are All Storytellers

The Grand Marais Public Library will host We Are All Storytellers, an engaging and interactive presentation led by Minnesota author Margi Preus. The program will take place on Wednesday, April 22, at 3:30 pm.  Designed for children in PreK through 8th grade – and writers of all ages. Open to all.
