Bone Builders is a group exercise weight training program that was created for adults who are interested in preventing and reducing osteoporosis. Bone Builders meets at the Lutsen Town Hall on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 to 11 am.
The Grand Marais Playhouse will hold auditions for The Spitfire Grill on Monday, March 31 at 7 PM at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts. The cast is four women and three men. An orchestra is also needed including a keyboard, guitar/mandolin, violin, cello, accordion, bass (upright acoustic), and synth.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is available on Tuesdays at the Cook County Community Center from 9 am to 3 pm. This program offers tax help to seniors and people of low to moderate income. No appointment is needed. First come, first served.

Lutsen Yoga takes place on Tuesdays from 6 to 6:45 at the Town Hall. All ages and abilities are welcome. 10 mats are available for use on a first come first served basis.

The Grand Marais Public Library hosts a writing workshop on Starting Your Screenplay with award-winning novelist Brian Malloy on Wednesday, April 2 from 6 to 8 pm. The workshop will be geared toward adults and youth, ages fourteen and above. Attendees should bring paper and a pen or pencil. The workshop is part of a series of workshops led by Malloy at the Library.

The West End Alanon family Group meets each Wednesday at 7 pm at the Lutsen Town Hall. Alanon is a group that supports friends and family members of alcoholics. The group welcomes anyone who has been affected by a friend or family member who has a problem with alcohol.
Narcotics Anonymous meetings are Wednesday evenings at 7 pm at The Hub in Grand Marais. All who have an interest are welcome to come.
Northern Lotus Meditation takes place on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 pm, with instruction in meditation and room manners at 6:45 pm, at Two Bird Healing Arts Center in Grand Marais.

North House Folk School hosts arctic explorer Lonnie Dupre on Friday, April 4 at 6:30 pm for a presentation about his past and future Greenland expeditions, and on the rapid effects of climate change on Greenland’s ice. An artist reception for North Shore photographer Hayes Scriven will be held on Friday, April 4 at the Tettgouche Visitor Center. Hayes will speak about his photography and be available for questions and discussion from 7 to 8:30 pm. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of Tettegouche.
Bethlehem Lutheran Church is sponsoring a “free laundry day” at Squig’s Laundromat on Saturday, April 5th from 9am to 2pm. Families and individuals are welcome (no businesses please). Bethlehem will provide quarters for the machines and laundry detergent. There will be coffee, morning donuts, and lunchtime sandwiches. It is our hope that this event will not only provide a small bit of relief for stretched budgets but will be a great chance to socialize and meet new friends.
The Grand Marais Public Library is hosting Carving Your Clan, an art and culture program with Minnesota artist and Ojibwe education Jeffrey Tibbetts. This workshop will be held on Friday, April 4, from 10 AM – 1 PM. This program is meant for those ages 10 and up. Adult supervision will be required for younger attendees as sharp objects will be used to carve.
