First Fridays

North House Folk School hosts First Fridays, a monthly series of community gatherings on campus. Meet on the Commons and the Blue Building each month for activities, speakers, dancing, games, and more at 5:30 pm. More information is available at northhouse.org.

Full Moon Poetry

Drury Lane Books hosts a Full Moon Poetry event from 6 to 8 pm. This is an open community bonfire where all are encouraged to share a favorite piece of prose or literature. Meet just behind the shop on the beach side. More information is available at drurylanebooks.com.

Open meetings for AA, NA, Alanon

The Shepherds Reach Recovery Ministry is hosting open meetings for AA, NA, and ALANON on Friday nights at 6 PM at Cornerstone Community Church. When the weather permits, bonfires will follow the meetings. Open to all.

Youth Mountain bike team info meeting

The Cook County Mountain Bike Team 2026 info and registration meeting will take place on Monday, May 4, at 5 pm at North Point. This is for people who will be in grades 6-12 in the fall.  No experience necessary; no bike required. Registration will be open into August.

Monday Night Al-Anon will meet Mondays, at 7 pm at the First Congregational Church in Grand Marais.

Connecting Caregivers

Care Partners is offering a new opportunity for caregivers to gather for casual conversation and mutual encouragement. This monthly meeting is open to anyone who is caring for an older friend or family member, and offers a chance to visit with others who share the caregiving journey. Led by Care Partners volunteers Kathy Reeves and Kay Costello, the group will meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 1 pm at The Hub. Cook County West End Alanon

The West End Alanon family Group meets each Wednesday at 7 pm at the Lutsen Town Hall.  Alanon is a group that supports friends and family members of alcoholics.  The group welcomes anyone who has been affected by a friend or family member who has a problem with alcohol.
