Grand Portage Band swears in three Tribal Council members

The Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior swore in three members of the Tribal Council during an oath of office ceremony on Friday,  July 10.

Tribal Chair Robert “Bobby” Deschampe conducted the outdoor ceremony. The members taking the oath were April McCormick, William “Bill” Myers, and Dean Deschampe.

McCormick won the election for secretary-treasurer, Myers won the District 1 seat, and Deschampe won the election in District 2. Elections for the Tribal Council were held on June 9.
