The Cook County Age Friendly Initiative is hosting a series of information and celebration gatherings throughout Cook County.
Wednesday, June 10, at 10:30 am at the Cook County YMCA.
Tuesday, June 16, at 10:30 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hovland
Thursday, June 18, at 10:30 am at the Schaap Community Center.
The Grand Marais Public Library will host author and folklorist Chad Lewis for a special presentation, “Minnesota Lumberjacks: Legends and Lore,” on Tuesday, June 16, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
The Lutsen Township board meets on the third Tuesday of each month at the Lutsen Town Hall at 7 pm. More information at lutsentownship.com.
Cook County Public Health and Human Services, in collaboration with First Call for Help, is hosting an open house to share information on mobile crisis response in Cook County as the program transitions over to First Call for Help this Fall. The open house will be held on Wednesday, June 17, from 3:30 to 5 pm at the Cook County Community Center.
The West End Alanon family Group meets each Wednesday at 7 pm at the Lutsen Town Hall. Alanon is a group that supports friends and family members of alcoholics. The group welcomes anyone who has been affected by a friend or family member who has a problem with alcohol.
Northern Lotus Meditation takes place on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 pm, with instruction in meditation and room manners at 6:45 pm, at Two Birds Healing Arts Center in Grand Marais.

Care Partners of Cook County’s Memory Café meets on the third Thursday of each month, from 1-2:30 pm at The Hub. A Memory Café is a casual gathering where people with memory loss and the family or friends who care for them can come together in a safe, supportive, relaxed environment.

Joy & Co. hosts Art Counter Projects on Thursdays from 3 to 4:30 pm. The activities are a self-guided adventure at the Art Counter with help if required. June will feature Fans and Wheels.
The Grand Marais Farmer’s Market is held on Thursdays from 4:30 to 6 pm at the Cook County Community Center Parking Lot.
