WISE (Women’s Initiative for Service and Education) is hosting an evening gathering at Up Yonder on Tuesday, April 21, from 5:30 to 7 pm. After a social hour, there will be an opportunity to learn about the workings of Oddz’n Endz and the First & Second Thrift Store, which together have donated nearly two million dollars to local nonprofits. There will also be a short fashion show of clothing from First & Second.

Care Partners and Cook County Higher Education present Lunch & Learn “Mining Memory Lane: Exploring Your Stories” on Wednesday, April 22, from noon to 1 pm at CCHE or Zoom. Writer and storyteller Rose Arrowsmith will use prompts, guided visualization, and paired sharing techniques to help tap into and start crafting memories.

The Grand Marais Public Library will host We Are All Storytellers, an engaging and interactive presentation led by Minnesota author Margi Preus. The program will take place on Wednesday, April 22, at 3:30 pm. Designed for children in PreK through 8th grade – and writers of all ages. Open to all.
The West End Alanon family Group meets each Wednesday at 7 pm at the Lutsen Town Hall. Alanon is a group that supports friends and family members of alcoholics. The group welcomes anyone who has been affected by a friend or family member who has a problem with alcohol.
Northern Lotus Meditation takes place on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 pm, with instruction in meditation and room manners at 6:45 pm, at Two Birds Healing Arts Center in Grand Marais.
Cook County Higher Education is hosting “Meeting the Spiritual and Emotional Challenges of Aging” on Thursday, April 23, from 11:30 am to 1 pm at CCHE. In this final session of the End of Life Series, the Rev. Anne Swallow Gillis will explore some of the inner work around aging and dying. More information and registration at myCCHE.org/events.
A Grand Marais Farmers Market Open House will be held on Thursday, April 23, from 3 to 6 pm at the Cook County Community Center. This is an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about how to become a vendor. The first market of the season is scheduled for June 18 at the community center.
The Superior National Forest invites the public to a Gunflint Ranger District open house on Thursday, April 23, from 3 to 4:30 pm at the Schaap Community Center. Forest Supervisor Tom Hall, district rangers, and project staff will share information about mission-critical work, including upcoming road and trail construction, prescribed fire, active management, recreation projects, and more.
