Chik-Wauk Nature Center hosts Mark Zimmer, aka The Barefoot Traveler, for a presentation on traveling to and detailing the BWCA’s maintained areas on Sunday, August 9, at 2 pm. More information at gunflinthistory.org.
Weekly nature presentations are held on the front porch of Chik-Wauk Museum (in case of inclement weather, the presentations will be held indoors at the Nature Center) on Mondays at 1 pm. All are welcome.

Monday Night Al-Anon will meet Mondays, at 7 pm at the First Congregational Church in Grand Marais.

The Cook County Board of Commissioners meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioners Room.
The Happy Hikers organize a weekly hike on Tuesdays at 9 am. The August 11 hike will be Woods Creek The group will meet at the Cook County YMCA Parking Lot near the tennis courts to carpool, or meet at the trailhead. The West End Alanon family Group meets each Wednesday at 7 pm at the Lutsen Town Hall. Alanon is a group that supports friends and family members of alcoholics. The group welcomes anyone who has been affected by a friend or family member who has a problem with alcohol.
Northern Lotus Meditation takes place on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 pm, with instruction in meditation and room manners at 6:45 pm, at Two Birds Healing Arts Center in Grand Marais.
