Pull, Plant, Protect the Gunflint Trail

The Gunflint Trail Scenic Byway Committee and the Cook County Invasives Team are hosting Pull, Plant, Protect the Gunflint Trail on Wednesday, July 22.  Volunteers meet at the Seagull Lake Community Center for an info session and treats at 1 pm.

Bugs at the Library

The Grand Marais Public Library presents Bugs at the Library with Nature Connect, a family-friendly program on July 22, at 2 pm. Designed for ages 5 and up, this event welcomes all ages and features live insect water touch tanks.

Cook County West End Alanon

The West End Alanon family Group meets each Wednesday at 7 pm at the Lutsen Town Hall.  Alanon is a group that supports friends and family members of alcoholics.  The group welcomes anyone who has been affected by a friend or family member who has a problem with alcohol.

Northern Lotus Meditation

Northern Lotus Meditation takes place on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 pm, with instruction in meditation and room manners at 6:45 pm, at Two Birds Healing Arts Center in Grand Marais.

Bird Banding Demonstrations

Sugarloaf Cove Nature Center hosts bird banding demonstrations on Thursday mornings between 7 am and 11 am. Demonstrations are weather-dependent. Call the Cove to check at 218-663-7679. More information at sugarloafnorthshore.org.

Sawmill Tours

Sawmill Tours at Hedstrom Lumber are held during the summer on Thursdays at 10 am and 1 pm. Tours are led by Steve Robertson, a recently retired interpreter for the US Forest Service. Tours require a reservation. Reservations can be made at hedstromlumber.com.

Grand Marais Farmers Market

The Grand Marais Farmers Market is held on Thursdays from 4:30 to 6 pm at the Cook County Community Center Parking Lot. The market is operated as a partnership between the Northwoods Food Project, the Cook County Community Center, and Cook County U of MN Extension.

Finland Farmers Market

The Finland Farmers Market is held on Thursdays from 5 to 6:30 pm at the Clair Nelson Center pavilions.

Harbor History Walking Tours with the Cook County Historical Society

The Cook County Historical Society leads Harbor History Walking Tours on Fridays from 7 to 8:30 pm (weather permitting). Interested participants can meet outside the History Museum and should be able to walk approximately a mile on uneven surfaces. More information at cookcountyhistory.org.

Rooftop yoga

All-levels yoga class on the rooftop at Voyageur Brewing Company each Saturday at 9:30 AM. Registration and more information is available online.
