Wednesday Afternoon Open Curling

Cook County Curling Club hosts Wednesday Afternoon Open Curling at 1 pm at the Cook County Curling Club.  Open to prospective new members looking to test drive the sport. Bring a clean pair of tennis shoes to go out on the ice. More information is available at cookcountycurlingclub.com.

Cook County West End Alanon

The West End Alanon family Group meets each Wednesday at 7 pm at the Lutsen Town Hall.  Alanon is a group that supports friends and family members of alcoholics.  The group welcomes anyone who has been affected by a friend or family member who has a problem with alcohol.

Dancing at Colvill Town Hall

Dancing at the Colvill Town Hall takes place every Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm.  Line, waltz, texas 2-step, swing polka, and more with a volunteer instructor.  All are invited to bring a favorite CD to share and your favorite dance moves.  More information is available from Arvis at 218-387-2487 or thompsontom335@gmail.com.

Northern Lotus Meditation

Northern Lotus Meditation takes place on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 pm, with instruction in meditation and room manners at 6:45 pm, at Two Bird Healing Arts Center in Grand Marais.

Cook County Memory Café

Memory Café is a monthly gathering for people who are living with dementia and those who are caring for them.  The Cook County Memory Café meets the third Thursday of each month from 1 to 2:30 pm online via Zoom.  More information is available at carepartnersofcookcounty.org.

Thursday Art Night

Hygge Party Fiber Circle

A weekly Hygge Party drop-in fiber circle takes place at Dappled Fern yarn shop on Thursdays from 6 to 7 pm.  More information is available at dappledfernfibers.com.

Head to the Kitchen: Find your path for starting or growing your food business.

University of Minnesota Extension’s “Head to the Kitchen” workshop will be held at the Cook County Community Center of Friday, March 22 from 1 to 4:30 pm.  The workshop is designed for entry-level food business participants such as small- to mid-scale farmers and growers, food producers and processors, food entrepreneurs, and cottage food producers to gain critical food safety knowledge.

The food business options covered in this workshop are cottage foods, Product of the Farm, Retail Food Handler, and Wholesale Food Processor/Manufacturer.

Oula Dance Fitness

Oula Dance Fitness classes are held on Fridays from 4:15 to 5:15 pm at the Cook County Community Center Log Building. Oula is a 60-minute dance fitness class for all ages. Taught by Elunia Steckelberg.  More information is available from Elunia at (218) 370-2292.

Saturday Fiber Circle

The Saturday Fiber Circle is back on Saturdays from 10 am to noon.  The drop-in weekly group at Dappled Fern yarn shop in Grand Marais is a place to work on easy projects and connect with other fiber folks in the area.  More information is available at dappledfernfibers.com.
