Care Partners of Cook County’s Memory Café meets on the third Thursday of each month, from 1-2:30 pm at The Hub. A Memory Café is a casual gathering where people with memory loss and the family or friends who care for them can come together in a safe, supportive, relaxed environment.

The Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery presents a solo exhibition by Logan Hudson, winner of the 2025 Grand Marais Plein Air “Best Body of Work” award, and first place in the 90-minute Birney Quick Paint. An opening reception will take place on Friday, May 22, from 5 to 7 pm. The exhibition will run through June 14.

Community Mindfulness Nights are held on the last Monday of every month at Two Birds Healing Arts Center from 6 to 7:30 pm. May 25 will feature a walk with plants of the boreal woods with Lily Wilson. All are welcome.
Monday Night Al-Anon will meet Mondays, at 7 pm at the First Congregational Church in Grand Marais.
The Cook County Board of Commissioners meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioners Room.
Cook County Higher Education and Care Partners of Cook County are hosting Lunch & Learn: The Gift of Sight on Wednesday, May 27, from noon to 1 pm at CCHE and over Zoom. Patty Stockdale from the UMD Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Neurosciences will talk about the Lion’s Gift of Sight Program and provide a glimpse into current vision-related research. Cathy Everett from the Grand Marais Lions Club will also share her own special experience with the Gift of Sight Program.

The Good Harbor Hill Players invite the community to help launch the magic of the 2026 Summer Solstice Pageant with a festive Kick-Off Party and Puppet Making Workshop on Wednesday, May 27, from 6 to 7 pm at the Cook County Community Center indoor arena.
